Welcome to DTU Central Library

The Central Library of Delhi Technological University (DTU), formerly known as Delhi College of Engineering (DCE), has a rich legacy that mirrors the institution's evolution. Established in 1941 as Delhi Polytechnic, the Library began with a modest collection to support the academic needs of the institution. Following the institution's affiliation with the University of Delhi, the Library expanded its resources and services to meet the requirements of degree-level education and advanced research. Over the decades, it has grown into a comprehensive knowledge centre serving diverse disciplines including engineering, science, technology, management, humanities, and social sciences.

In 2004, the Central Library moved to its present state-of-the-art building, marking a significant milestone in its journey towards becoming a modern academic information centre. Today, the Library stands as a testament to DTU's commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and research-driven learning. By continuously embracing emerging technologies and user-centric practices, the Library remains dedicated to supporting the educational and research aspirations of students, faculty members, researchers, and staff.

The DTU Central Library serves as the intellectual hub of the University, providing seamless access to a vast range of print and digital resources through a fully automated environment. The Library offers advanced discovery and access tools, remote access to scholarly resources, plagiarism detection support, institutional repository services, research information management systems, and access to leading national and international academic databases. Dedicated reading spaces, digital learning facilities, collaborative study areas, Wi-Fi-enabled infrastructure, and extended study hours further enhance the learning experience of the University community.

In addition to providing information resources, the Library actively promotes research excellence and information literacy through orientation programmes, workshops, training sessions, book exhibitions, outreach activities, and scholarly communication initiatives. Innovative projects such as faculty publication archives, research support services, academic writing assistance, and digital knowledge platforms reflect the Library's commitment to fostering a vibrant culture of learning and discovery.

Guided by its vision to provide uninterrupted access to quality academic resources, support research, and promote lifelong learning, the DTU Central Library continues to evolve as a dynamic knowledge centre that empowers users, advances scholarship, and contributes to the University's mission of creating globally competent professionals, researchers, and leaders.
