Learning Spaces
The library offers a vibrant learning space with a seating capacity of 550 users, providing a comfortable and conducive environment for study, research, collaborative learning, and academic activities.
Reprographic Service (with Charges)
The library provides photocopying (Xerox) and printing facilities for library documents primarily for academic and research purposes. These services enable users to obtain copies of required study materials while complying with copyright regulations and library policies.
Photocopy Charges (Effective from 1st April 2007):
- Minimum charge: ₹5 for up to 10 copies
- Additional copies: ₹0.50 per copy
Xerox Charges:
- Minimum charge: ₹10 for up to 3 copies
- Additional copies: ₹3 per copy
This service is intended to facilitate access to academic resources while ensuring convenience for students, faculty, and researchers.
Book Bank Service
The Book Bank Service supports students from economically weaker sections by providing textbooks on long-term loan for an entire academic semester. This facility ensures access to essential course materials and promotes educational equity. The service is available to eligible students as per university rules.
Registration
Faculty members and students who wish to avail themselves of library services must register with the library. Registration forms can be downloaded from the library website and submitted along with the required documents and photographs for membership activation.
Recommend the Book
The library encourages users to participate in collection development by recommending books and other information resources. Members can submit requisition forms with complete bibliographic details. Suggestions are reviewed, and suitable resources are procured subject to approval and budget availability.
Library Catalogue (OPAC)
The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) enables users to search the library's collection electronically. Through OPAC, users can locate books and other materials by title, author, subject, keyword, or accession number. The system provides bibliographic details and availability status of resources.
Digital Library / Institutional Repository
The Institutional Repository serves as a digital archive of the university's intellectual output, including theses, dissertations, faculty publications, research papers, and other scholarly works. Users can search documents by author, title, subject, date, or keywords and access institutional research resources online.
Reference Service
The library offers reference and information services to assist users in locating and utilizing information resources effectively. Reference staff guide users in searching for information, using reference sources such as encyclopedias and handbooks, and accessing both print and digital resources. Online reference assistance is also available for user queries.
Newspaper and Magazine Section
The library maintains a dedicated section for newspapers and magazines. It subscribes to a variety of national newspapers and magazines, providing users with current news, general knowledge, and information on contemporary issues.
Journals and Periodicals Section
The library subscribes to a wide range of national and international journals, magazines, and periodicals to support teaching, learning, and research. Access is provided to both print and electronic journals from reputed publishers and professional organizations, enabling users to stay updated with current developments in their fields.
Cancellation of Registration / No Dues Certificate
The library provides a No Dues Certificate facility for students and faculty members. Users can download the prescribed No Dues Certificate (NDC) form from the library website and submit it to the library for clearance during graduation, transfer, retirement, or resignation.
One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) Access
The DTU Central Library provides access to the One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) initiative, enabling students, faculty members, researchers, and scholars to access a vast collection of scholarly journals, research articles, and academic resources from leading national and international publishers. This initiative supports teaching, learning, innovation, and research activities by offering seamless access to high-quality scientific, technical, and multidisciplinary literature through a unified platform, thereby enhancing the academic and research ecosystem of the University.
NDLI Club Membership
The DTU Central Library facilitates membership of the National Digital Library of India (NDLI) Club, providing students, faculty members, and researchers with opportunities to engage in knowledge-sharing, learning activities, webinars, workshops, quizzes, and other academic initiatives organized under the NDLI framework. Through the NDLI Club, users gain access to a rich repository of digital learning resources and participate in various educational and skill-development programs that support lifelong learning and academic excellence.
Shodhganga, ShodhSindhu and ShodhChakra Access
The DTU Central Library provides access to national research initiatives such as Shodhganga, ShodhSindhu, and ShodhChakra, supporting the academic and research needs of students, faculty members, and scholars. Shodhganga offers access to a vast repository of Indian theses and dissertations, enabling users to explore and utilize valuable research outputs. ShodhSindhu facilitates access to a wide range of scholarly e-resources, including journals, databases, and other academic content from leading publishers. ShodhChakra serves as a comprehensive research support platform that assists researchers in discovering scholarly literature, identifying suitable journals, tracking research trends, and enhancing the visibility and impact of their research. Together, these platforms strengthen the University's research ecosystem by providing seamless access to quality scholarly information and research support services.

The DTU Central Library regularly publishes a variety of informational and promotional resources to support the academic community and enhance awareness of library services, collections, and activities. My Loft (Remote Access Service)
The DTU Central Library provides Remote Access (RemoteXS) facilities, enabling authorised users to access subscribed e-resources, including e-journals, e-books, databases, and other digital content, from anywhere and at any time. This service ensures seamless off-campus access to scholarly information resources, supporting teaching, learning, and research activities beyond the physical boundaries of the library. RemoteXS enhances user convenience by providing secure and authenticated access to the library's electronic collections through a single platform.
Grammarly Academic Writing Support
The DTU Central Library provides access to Grammarly, an advanced writing and editing tool that assists students, faculty members, and researchers in improving the quality of their academic and professional writing. The platform offers real-time suggestions for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, tone, and style, helping users produce clear, accurate, and polished documents. Grammarly supports academic writing, research manuscripts, reports, theses, dissertations, and other scholarly communications, thereby enhancing overall writing effectiveness and productivity.
Turnitin Plagiarism Detection Service
The DTU Central Library provides access to Turnitin, a leading plagiarism detection and academic integrity tool, to support high-quality research and scholarly writing. The service enables students, faculty members, and researchers to check the originality of their manuscripts, theses, dissertations, research papers, and academic assignments by comparing submitted content against an extensive database of scholarly publications, web sources, and student papers. Turnitin helps users identify potential instances of similarity, improve citation practices, and maintain the highest standards of academic integrity and research ethics.
YouTube Tutorials and Learning Resources
The DTU Central Library provides access to a curated collection of YouTube tutorials and instructional videos to help users effectively utilize library resources, digital platforms, research tools, and academic databases. These tutorials offer step-by-step guidance on accessing e-resources, conducting literature searches, using citation and reference management tools, improving research skills, and maximizing the benefits of various library services. Information Literacy Programme
The DTU Central Library regularly conducts Information Literacy Programmes to equip students, faculty members, and researchers with the knowledge and skills required to effectively identify, access, evaluate, organise, and use information resources. These programmes provide training on library services, e-resources, research databases, information retrieval techniques, citation practices, research ethics, and scholarly communication.
